‘The Larkins’ Season 2 Episode 4 recap: What happened in ‘Wheels of Justice’?

The Larkins is back for a second season!

ITV’s hit comedy-drama is based on the novels by H.E. Bates, with scripts by The Durrells creator Simon Nye.

The books were previously adapted as The Darling Buds of May, which ran for three seasons in the early 1990s.

The Larkins follows the golden-hearted wheeler dealer Pop Larkin and his wife Ma, together with their six children, including the beautiful Mariette, as they bask in their idyllic and beautiful patch of paradise in Kent in the late 1950’s.

Starring Bradley Walsh (Doctor WhoLaw & Order: UK) and Joanna Scanlan (Notes on a Scandal) as Pop and Ma, the show launched last autumn.

The Larkins now returns with six brand new episodes, set in the summer of 1959.

Season 2 is expected to arrive later this year for American viewers on Acorn TV.

Here’s a plot recap for the fourth episode of Season 2, ‘Wheels of Justice’, which premiered on ITV at 8pm on Sunday 13th November 2022:

Ma and the children are trying to convince Pop to take the court case seriously but he has more fun things on his mind, like finishing the swimming pool.

The Larkin children decide to take this responsibility off Pop’s shoulders – how hard can it be to build a pool?

Pop conducts his own defence in court while his adversaries the Jerebohms have hired a hotshot London lawyer, and arranged for the suspiciously biased Judge Sprague.

Mariette and Charley finally return from their honeymoon just as the Larkins need all the family together to deal with looming jail time for Pop.

The Larkins is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.
