‘All Creatures Great and Small’ return date confirmed: When does Season 2 start?

Channel 5 has announced when the new season of All Creatures Great and Small begins in the UK.

Based on author James Herriot’s much-loved collection of stories, the popular drama series launched in the UK last autumn and the show debuted in the US on PBS earlier this year.

All Creatures Great and Small chronicles the heartwarming and humorous adventures of a young country vet in the Yorkshire Dales in the 1930s.

Six brand new episodes and a second Christmas special started filming in Yorkshire, England back in March.

All the main cast are back, including Nicholas Ralph as James Herriot, Samuel West (Mr. Selfridge) as Siegfried Farnon, Anna Madeley (Deadwater Fell) Mrs Hall, Callum Woodhouse (The Durrells) as Tristan Farnon, and Rachel Shenton (White Gold) as Helen Alderson.

The official synopsis for Season 2 reads: “Three months have passed since the events of Season 1. A trip back home to Glasgow presents James with a dilemma that will mean choosing between the people he loves.

“As Helen and James navigate their feelings for one another, Siegfried, Tristan, and Mrs Hall are also forced to consider their places in the world, while James must ultimately decide between duty and love.”

Season 2 premieres in the UK at 9pm on Thursday 16th September on Channel 5, airing weekly episodes on Thursdays.
