BBC reveals release date for Series 2 of the hit Death in Paradise spin-off Beyond Paradise

Beyond Paradise will return to BBC One and BBC iPlayer on Friday 22 March, for a six-episode run which will air on Fridays at 8pm. The series was made by Red Planet Pictures, in a co-commission with BritBox International.

Who is returning?

Series one of Beyond Paradise topped the polls for new drama last year across all channels and streamers. Series two will see the welcome return of Shipton Abbott’s residents, including Kris Marshall (DI Humphrey Goodman), Sally Bretton (Martha Lloyd), Zahra Ahmadi (DS Esther Williams), Dylan Llewellyn (PC Kelby Hartford), Barbara Flynn (Anne Lloyd) and Felicity Montagu (Margo Martins).

Series one saw Humphrey take up the vacant position of Detective Inspector at Shipton Abbott police station in the Devon & Cornwall Police district, where he and fiancee Martha hoped to find a quieter life away from the city. However, they quickly discover that they may have gotten more than they bargained for.

Series two will see Humphrey kept on his toes, faced with a never-ending string of baffling crimes locally, as well as threats from above to close the local station. Meanwhile he and Martha consider expanding their own family life to become foster parents.

Will there be special guest stars?

Viewers will not be disappointed by the special guest list for Series 2, which includes Peter Davidson (All Creatures Great and Small), Kevin Bishop (The Kevin Bishop Show), Emma Fielding (Van der Valk), Peter Landi (Ted Lasso), Emily Lloyd-Saini (Juice),  Nicholas Woodeson (Skyfall), and Malcolm Storry (Doc Martin), as well as a certain Selwyn the Duck!

Beyond Paradise is internationally distributed by BBC Studios. The first series of Beyond Paradise is available to watch now on iPlayer in the UK, and on BritBox International in North America, Nordic markets and in South Africa.
