‘Belgravia’ trailer: ‘Downton’ creator returns with new period drama – watch!
The US trailer for Belgravia features our best look yet at the upcoming series.
Based on Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes’s New York Times bestselling novel of the same name from 2016, the new six-part period drama arrives very soon.
The much-anticipated TV adaptation stars Tamsin Greig (Episodes), Philip Glenister (Life on Mars), Harriet Walter (Downton Abbey) and Tom Wilkinson (The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel).
Set in London in the 1840s, Belgravia has been written by Julian Fellowes himself, with Downton Abbey boss Gareth Neame executive producing the series and John Alexander (Sense & Sensibility) directing.
The official synopsis reads: “Belgravia is a story of secrets and dishonour amongst the upper echelon of London society in the 19th Century.
“When the Trenchards accept an invitation to the now legendary ball hosted by the Duchess of Richmond on the fateful evening of the Battle of Waterloo, it sets in motion a series of events that will have consequences for decades to come as secrets unravel behind the porticoed doors of London’s grandest postcode.”
