BritBox confirms when ‘Father Brown’ Season 11 arrives in the US
American fans won’t have to wait too long for the latest season of Father Brown!
Based on the stories by GK Chesterton, the 1950s-set crime drama has been a much-loved show for the BBC since it began in 2013.
10 new episodes were filmed in the Cotswalds earlier this year, and the UK premiere date for Season 11 was announced last week.
“Father Brown continues to bring in a dedicated audience on BBC daytime and iPlayer as well as legions of fans across the world,” commented the BBC’s Head of Daytime, Rob Unsworth.
“We’re thrilled to be bringing more of his adventures to screen in the eleventh series,” he added.
Compelling new mysteries will include one at an arts and crafts fair, another at a crime writing festival, and one at a “food fayre to die for.”
When’s the release date in America?
Following its UK launch on Friday 5 January 2024 on BBC One and streaming on BBC iPlayer, brand new Father Brown will premiere in the US just a couple of weeks later.
Season 11’s first two episodes will be streaming on BritBox from Tuesday 23 January 2024, with the remaining episodes dropping once a week on Tuesdays.
Other highlights on BritBox in January include The Repair Shop (we love this show!), Northern Irish police drama Blue Lights, and Robbie Coltrane’s Murderland.
Harry Potter actor Mark Williams is reprising his role as the titular crime-busting priest, alongside returning regulars John Burton as Sergeant Daniel Goodfellow, Ruby-May Martinwood as Brenda Palmer, Tom Chambers as Chief Inspector Sullivan, and Claudie Blakley as Mrs. Isobel Devine.
Doctor Who fans will recognise two of this season’s guest stars, with Scottish star Sylvester McCoy (aka the Seventh Doctor) and comedian Ingrid Oliver (aka Osgood) making special appearances.
John Light (Murder in Provence) is also back as Flambeau!
2024 will also bring us a third season of Sister Boniface Mysteries, with the Father Brown spin-off set to return later in the year.
Father Brown is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.
