‘Cold Feet’ gallery: First look at ‘Downton Abbey’ star as David’s new love interest

ITV has released some photos of Downton Abbey star Siobhan Finneran in the new season of Cold Feet.

The romantic drama series returns in the UK at 9pm tomorrow night on ITV.

Siobhan Finneran joins the cast in Season 7 as Nikki Kirkbright, “a Cheshire housewife that seems to have it all – money, big house and big hair – but something isn’t quite right.”

The BAFTA-nominated Happy Valley actress is best known for playing O’Brien in the first three seasons of Downton Abbey.

Finneran commented last month: “I’m incredibly happy to be involved in Cold Feet as I’ve always been a fan.”

In Season 7’s opening episode, David is struggling in his career, bored of the tedium of peddling insurance to unsuspecting pensioners. He’s delighted when Pete presents him with an introduction to the lucrative Cheshire set via his client Nikki who happens to be the bored wife of a wealthy businessman. Can David impress her and her ‘WAGs and widows’ friends enough so that Nikki meets him again, for business or maybe even pleasure?

The first six seasons of Cold Feet are available to buy now on DVD.

Starring James Nesbitt (The Missing), Helen Baxendale (Friends) and Hermione Norris (The Crimson Field), Cold Feet originally aired from 1997 to 2003 and returned to British screens in 2016 following a thirteen-year absence.

The revival reunited the Manchester-based ‘fiftysomething’ friends as they encountered the minefield of middle age.
