‘The Durrells in Corfu’ returns: Watch the trailer for Season 2!

PBS has released a trailer for the new season of The Durrells in Corfu.

Set in Corfu in the 1930s, the British period drama series launched in the UK in April 2016 and debuted in the US last October on PBS.

The family drama is based upon Gerald Durrell’s classic trilogy of Corfu memoirs, telling the story of Louisa Durrell (Upstairs Downstairs star Keeley Hawes), who decides to uproot her family from Bournemouth to start a new life in Corfu.

Six brand new episodes will premiere in the US at 8/7c on Sunday October 15 on Masterpiece on PBS.

Watch the trailer:

Season 2 sees Larry (Josh O’Connor) continue to pursue his passion for writing despite a new romance getting in the way; Leslie (Callum Woodhouse) decides to explore his entrepreneurial spirit; Margo (Daisy Waterstone) remains boy crazy and makes a play for someone thoroughly unsuitable; and Gerry (Milo Parker), who prefers animals to people, is delighted when he discovers an otter is living close to home.

Daniel Lapaine joins the cast as Hugh Jarvis – an English gentleman who sets his sight on Louisa. But after her failed attempt at marrying Sven, will Louisa be ready for a new man in her life?

Season 1 is available to buy now on DVD.

The Durrells creator Simon Nye has confirmed that a third season will air in 2018.
