Confirmed at last: ‘Downton Abbey’ movie starts filming this summer!

The news that Downton fans have been awaiting for an age has finally arrived today.

The Downton Abbey movie is definitely happening!

The show’s official Facebook page has just confirmed: “Welcome back to Downton! We’re thrilled to announce that Downton Abbey is coming to the big screen. Film production begins this summer.”

The Downton Abbey film was officially announced in 2017 and production had been rumoured to begin this May, but the project had all gone very quiet recently so this is wonderful news.

A release date has not yet been confirmed, but we would expect the movie to arrive in early 2019.
