‘Downton Abbey’ special is coming to PBS ahead of the movie
PBS has revealed details of an exciting new preview for Downton Abbey fans.
Ahead of the release of the Downton movie this autumn, the network will be airing Downton Abbey Returns this month.
PBS describes the new special as “a nostalgic celebration of all aspects of the most successful British drama ever – the stellar cast, superb writing, spectacular locations and dazzling costumes.”
Downton Abbey Returns is hosted by actor Jim Carter, who plays Mr. Carson.
It features brand new interviews with writer/creator Julian Fellowes, executive producer Gareth Neame and many Downton cast members.
The special will include a look back at some of the best moments from all six seasons of Downton Abbey, plus “exclusive sneak peeks of the upcoming movie.”
The Downton Abbey movie will be released in UK cinemas on Friday 13th September and in US cinemas the following week on Friday 20th September.
A wonderful new trailer was unveiled last month.
Written by Julian Fellowes, the movie finished filming last November and features (almost) the entire TV show’s main cast returning to their roles.
Downton Abbey: The Complete Collection DVD box set is available on Amazon.
