34 actors from ‘EastEnders’ who’ve been in ‘Doctor Who’

It wasn’t just 1993’s infamous charity skit ‘Dimensions in Time’ which saw the worlds of Doctor Who and EastEnders collide!

The residents of Albert Square have been encountering the Doctor all over time and space for decades, right back to the legendary Patrick Trueman (aka actor Rudolph Walker) in ‘The War Games’ nearly 60 years ago.

Since the 2005 revival of Doctor Who, dozens of cast members from the BBC’s long-running London-set soap opera have made appearances, from Michelle Ryan (Zoe Slater) in ‘Planet of the Dead’ to Anita Dobson (Angie Watts) as Mrs Flood in the most recent Who era.

Here’s a YouTube video revealing 34 of the most recognisable EastEnders stars to have entered the Whoniverse this century:

Last week the BBC announced that Doctor Who will be taking a break from our screens for a few years before relaunching with an exciting new era later this decade.

A planned festive special originally scheduled this December is no longer happening, however.

“After careful consideration, the BBC, Russell T Davies and Bad Wolf have collectively decided not to go ahead with the previously announced Doctor Who Christmas episode,” the official statement reads.

“This decision was not taken lightly, and we know it will be disappointing for fans, but in order to set the show up for future series, it was decided that rather than bridge the gap with a one off special, we are choosing to push forward to invest in the long-term future of the show which ensures that when the TARDIS lands once more, it does so in all its glory,” they said.
