Watch the rousing trailer for new 1970s-set Elton John musical movie ‘Rocketman’

The full-length trailer for Rocketman has been released.

Set in the late 1960s and early 1970s, the “epic musical fantasy” stars Robin Hood actor Taron Egerton as a young Elton John.

Rocketman is directed by Dexter Fletcher, who took over on the Oscar-winning Bohemian Rhapsody when disgraced director Bryan Singer was fired from the Queen biopic in 2017.

Telling “the uncensored human story of Elton John’s breakthrough years,” the movie also stars Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot), Richard Madden (Bodyguard) and Bryce Dallas Howard (Jurassic World).

Taron Egerton recently described making the movie as “the greatest joy of my professional life.”

Rocketman lands in US cinemas on Friday 31st May.
