‘Finding Alice’ trailer: Keeley Hawes stars in new drama from ‘The Durrells’ writer
ITV has released the first trailer for Keeley Hawes’ latest drama series.
Best known for playing Louisa in all four seasons of The Durrells, the 44-year-old English actress is returning to our screens soon in Finding Alice.
The new six-part drama is written by The Durrells creator Simon Nye and directed by Roger Goldby (Call the Midwife).
Finding Alice follows a woman whose husband’s sudden and accidental death unearths a trail of secrets, debt, suspicion and criminality.
The cast also includes Joanna Lumley (Absolutely Fabulous), Nigel Havers (Chariots of Fire), Jason Merrells (Cutting It), Gemma Jones (Gentleman Jack), Kenneth Cranham (Bancroft), Isabella Pappas (Paranoid), and Sharon Rooney (The Capture).
The official synopsis reads: “The series focuses on Alice’s honest, raw, blackly comic journey of grief, love and life after the death of her husband Harry. After moving into their newly finished dream house, Harry dies after falling down the stairs.
“Having designed the weird and wonderful, yet impractical house before he died, the move is one more disorientation for Alice, alongside her sense of loss and abandonment. Her beloved partner of 20 years is no more, and now she can’t even find the fridge.
“If that were her only problem… men have a habit of hiding stuff that they don’t want to deal with, and Alice discovers that Harry was worse than most.”

Finding Alice will premiere in the UK at 9pm on Sunday 17th January on ITV, airing weekly on Sunday nights.
A broadcaster in the US hasn’t yet been confirmed.
Keeley Hawes can also be seen later this month in Channel 4’s upcoming 1980s drama It’s a Sin, while The Durrells writer Simon Nye is currently working on a remake of The Darling Buds of May.
And if you’re missing The Durrells, the show’s makers have hinted that they’re already working on a follow-up series!
