‘Band of Brothers’ makers reveal first trailer for WW2 series ‘Masters of the Air’
Apple TV+ have released an epic trailer for Masters of the Air!
From the creative team behind Band of Brothers and The Pacific, the action-packed new period drama follows the true story of an American bomber group in the Second World War.
The nine-episode limited series has been adapted from Donald L. Miller‘s book by Band of Brothers writer John Orloff.

Elvis fans will recognise the Oscar-nominated Austin Butler above, but Masters of the Air also features a number of familiar faces from this side of the pond.
The cast includes Callum Turner from the Fantastic Beasts movies, new Doctor Who star Ncuti Gatwa, The Banshees of Inisherin actor Barry Keoghan, and James Murray (The Crown), alongside Stephen Campbell Moore (The History Boys) and Tommy Jessop (Line of Duty).
Masters of the Air reunites award-winning producers Steven Spielberg, Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman for the time time since they made The Pacific together 13 years ago.
“We’re thrilled that Apple TV+ has given us the opportunity to combine the efforts of so many talented people, on-screen and behind the camera, to tell this important story,” commented Goetzman.
Viewers on YouTube have praised the “absolutely breathtaking” trailer, with one comment saying: “The cinematic quality and attention to historical detail are outstanding.
“It’s incredible to see such a powerful and emotional portrayal of the bravery and struggles faced by the aircrews during World War II”, they added. “This series looks like it’s going to be a deeply immersive and gripping experience.”
“This looks great,” wrote another. “I drive past a WW2 American air base every day here in Norfolk, UK, and often think about how brave they and the Allied pilots were that flew during WW2. I’m very grateful to them. Hopefully the show will earn them some more well deserved appreciation.”
Fans of the Miller’s book are excited too: “The book this is based off of is unbelievable. There are some passages in that book that will be unforgettable if they filmed them.”
When’s the release date?
Episode 1 and Episode 2 will drop globally on Apple’s streaming service Apple TV+ on Friday 26 January 2024.
New instalments of Masters of the Air will then follow every Friday through in to mid-March.
