‘Fantastic Beasts’ returns to Hogwarts in ‘The Secrets Of Dumbledore’ trailer

The first trailer has been released for the new Fantastic Beasts movie!

Exploring the Wizarding World of Harry Potter, the planned five-film prequel franchise launched in 2016 with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

Set in post-World War I Europe, the movie was followed in 2018 with Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.

A third film was originally planned for release at the end of 2020.

Unfortunately, production on Fantastic Beasts 3 was postponed so that the script could be improved following the underwhelming response to the second film, then further delayed by the pandemic.

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is now set to arrive in cinemas worldwide on Friday 15th April 2022.

Jude Law is back as the young Albus Dumbledore, alongside Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, Ezra Miller as Credence, Alison Sudol as Queenie Goldstein, Dan Fogler as Jacob Kowalski, Katherine Waterston as Tina Goldstein, and Jessica Williams as Eulalie ‘Lally’ Hicks.

Mads Mikkelsen (Hannibal, Casino Royale) has taken over the role of Grindelwald.

The movie has been directed by English filmmaker David Yates, who also directed the previous two Fantastic Beasts movies and the final four Harry Potter movies.

The official synopsis for Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore reads: “Professor Albus Dumbledore (Jude Law) knows the powerful Dark wizard Gellert Grindelwald (Mads Mikkelsen) is moving to seize control of the wizarding world.

“Unable to stop him alone, he entrusts Magizoologist Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) to lead an intrepid team of wizards, witches and one brave Muggle baker on a dangerous mission, where they encounter old and new beasts and clash with Grindelwald’s growing legion of followers.

“But with the stakes so high, how long can Dumbledore remain on the sidelines?”

A wonderful new DVD box set was recently released celebrating 20 years of the Harry Potter movies.
