Michelle Dockery joins Hugh Grant and ‘Crazy Rich Asians’ star in new thriller
Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery certainly has a busy 2019!
With filming all completed on the long-awaited Downton Abbey movie, Michelle Dockery has been hard at work on her next project.
The 37-year-old English actress, who plays Lady Mary in Downton, will be starring alongside Hugh Grant (A Very English Scandal), Henry Golding (Crazy Rich Asians) and Matthew McConaughey (True Detective) in The Gentlemen.
The new action thriller from British director Guy Ritchie, who has just directed Disney’s upcoming Aladdin remake, will explore the collision between European “old money” and the modern marijuana industry.
The movie has been described as a “darkly comic blend of Sexy Beast and Downton Abbey.”
The plot of The Gentlemen follows a British drug lord attempting to cash in on his highly profitable empire by selling it off to a dynasty of Oklahoma billionaires.
Details of Michelle Dockery’s role are not yet known, but Hugh Grant is reportedly playing a British tabloid reporter.
Previously titled Toffs or Toff Guys, The Gentlemen is set for release in 2020.
The Downton Abbey movie will arrive in cinemas this September.
