The future of Miss Scarlet and The Duke has been revealed and fans will be very happy.
Miss Scarlet and The Duke stars English actress Kate Phillips (Wolf Hall, The Crown) as Eliza Scarlet, the fictional first ever female detective in Victorian London.
It was a hit with audiences on both sides of the pond, with 8 million viewers watching on Sunday nights in the US, and a second season began filming in Belgrade last summer.
Well, even though Season 2 isn’t back on American screens for another few months, PBS has announced that they’ve already renewed the show for a third season!
Airing as part of 2022’s Masterpiece Mystery season, Miss Scarlet and the Duke returns in the US with its second season at 8/7c on Sunday 16th October on PBS.

The six new 60-minute episodes will see Phillips return as the fearless Miss Scarlet, alongside Stuart Martin (Jamestown) as Inspector William “The Duke” Wellington.
Show creator Rachael New previously commented: “I’m absolutely thrilled at the news that Miss Scarlet and The Duke will be back … I have so much in store for Duke, Eliza and her crew.”
The former Grantchester writer has promised “even more action, adventure and of course a nice big dollop of romance,” saying: “The fans are going to LOVE it!”
Fans won’t have long to wait for the third season, as it’s been officially confirmed that it’ll premiere in the US at 8/7c on Sunday 8th January 2023 on PBS.
Season 3 will air in the UK on Alibi in “early 2023.”
Emma Ayech, channel director for Alibi, said: “The Alibi audience are huge fans of this series, so we’re really pleased that we can bring them more of what they love. I’m excited to see where Eliza and the Duke’s relationship will go and thankfully, we don’t have too long to wait.”
Melanie Rumani, global head of acquisitions for BBC Studios and UKTV, added: “It’s an exceptionally written story that is beautifully shot, and a real treat for viewers.”
Miss Scarlet and The Duke is available on DVD on Amazon.
