James Bond will celebrate 60th anniversary with epic concert in London
2022 marks sixty years of the James Bond movies and fans can join in the celebrations.
The iconic film franchise is going to celebrate this momentous anniversary with a charity concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall this autumn.
Featuring all your favourite classic theme songs, The Sound of 007 will showcase six decades of iconic Bond music.
Headlined by the iconic Dame Shirley Bassey – who sang the themes for Goldfinger, Diamonds are Forever, and Moonraker – the official concert from EON Productions will be curated by five-time Bond composer David Arnold.
Other 007 soundtrack artists including Garbage will appear, as well as special guests including Celeste, all backed by the Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra conducted by Nicholas Dodd.
More music acts will be announced soon.
James Bond producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli commented: “Music has always played a vital role in the success of the 007 series.”
They added: “Over the sixty-year history, we have been blessed with the extraordinary talents of legendary composers and artists who have created the most powerful and moving musical contributions to our twenty five films.”
The Sound of 007 in Concert will take place at the Royal Albert Hall at 7:30pm on Tuesday 4th October, and tickets go on sale today online here or via phone on 020 7589 8212.
Fans will know that this date marks the anniversary of the world premiere for the first 007 film, Dr. No, which was held in October 1962.
Lucy Noble, Artistic Director of the Royal Albert Hall said: “We could not be more honoured to host this landmark anniversary of one of the world’s greatest franchises. The Hall has forged an indelible association with 007 over many years and we are delighted to help them celebrate.”
And there’s more for Bond fans to enjoy at the Royal Albert Hall later this year!
In November, they’re going to be presenting a series of full in-concert screenings of three of Daniel Craig’s most-loved Bond movies, with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra performing the scores live to picture.
The trio of events features the in-concert premiere of Spectre, as well as 2006’s Casino Royale and 2012’s 50th anniversary film Skyfall.
