PBS confirms ‘Miss Scarlet and The Duke’ Season 4 premiere date
It’s been officially announced when Miss Scarlet and The Duke is back!
A fourth season of the period drama series began filming in Belgrade, Serbia last November.
The detective show has been a hit with audiences since it launched back in 2020, attracting 8 million viewers in the US.
Six brand new episodes of Miss Scarlet and The Duke will see Kate Phillips (The Crown, Wolf Hall) reprise her role as Victorian London’s fictional first-ever female detective, alongside Stuart Martin (Jamestown, Rebel Moon) as Inspector William “The Duke” Wellington.
Here’s a sneak peek at the pair reunited:
They’re joined by Cathy Belton (Hidden Assets), Evan McCabe (Doctor Who), Felix Scott (Our House), Paul Bazely (Black Mirror), Curtis Kantsa (The Sandman), Simon Ludders (Bridgerton), and Tim Chipping (Liar).
Here’s another first look at Kate Phillips in costume in the new season:
We’re told that in Season 4 “Eliza has taken over the business of Nash & Sons (not that he has any sons) and things are not going entirely smoothly, although help comes from some familiar sources.”
The synopsis continues “Outside of work, her relationship with William “The Duke” Wellington builds towards a looming decision that will shape both their lives.”
When’s the release date?
Miss Scarlet and The Duke returns at 8/7c on Sunday 7 January 2024 on PBS Masterpiece.
Viewers were quick to express their excitement on the show’s official Facebook page, with a fan writing: “YAY!! This makes me so happy!!”
“Hooray, more Miss Scarlet and her impossibly handsome William Wellington!” said another, while one said: “Thank goodness, something to look forward to, but still a few month off.”
The first part of a wonderful double-bill for Sunday nights in January and February, it’ll be followed each week by the new season of All Creatures Great and Small!
Last year, all six episodes of Season 3 dropped early for streaming on PBS Passport in December, a month ahead of their broadcast on PBS.
We’re currently uncertain if PBS will be doing the same thing with the new season, but we’ll keep you updated!
Over in the UK, Season 4 will be shown on the Alibi channel, but we don’t have an air date just yet.
Miss Scarlet and The Duke is available on DVD on Amazon.
