Screw – Season 1 (available from 1st September 2022)
A prison drama like no other, told through the embattled, inspiring characters who work there. The diverse gang of officers in charge at Long Marsh men’s prison each have their own unique take on the job. In charge of C-Wing is Leigh Henry (Nina Sosanya, Love Actually, W1A), a career officer who’d do anything for her prisoners – but she has a secret that if discovered, could cost her the job and even her liberty.
With the arrival of fiery new recruit Rose Gill (Jamie-Lee O’Donnell), Leigh must risk everything in her fight to hold onto the job that defines her. But as tensions mount between Leigh and Rose, we discover that Rose has a secret too – one that could prove deadly.
Inside No. 9 – Season 7 (available from 6th September 2022)
Steve Pemberton (Killing Eve) and Reece Shearsmith’s (Psychoville) deliciously dark comedy anthology series is back for a seventh season to tell unique and daring stories related to the number 9 with elements from the apparently mundane setup.
This season brings together a truly original mixture of comedy, drama, horror and thriller – all designed to delight and confound. From a Welsh primary school to a lonely lake, from ruthless kidnappers and obsessive detectives to time travel and a stuffed rabbit, each episode is as unexpected and enthralling as the next.
With a stellar cast of guest stars, every one of these tales will entertain and terrorize in equal measure.
Shetland – Season 7 (available from 13th September 2022)
The highly anticipated series Shetland is back! Based on the best-selling books by award-winning crime writer Ann Cleeves, Shetland follows Detective Jimmy Perez (Douglas Henshall, Outlander) and his team as they investigate crime within the close-knit island community.
In season 7, the disappearance of a vulnerable young man draws Perez into the troubled history of a family recently arrived from Glasgow. The missing man embraced life in Shetland and the community took him to its heart.
Have the vengeful ghosts of the past caught up with him, or did an intense, new relationship turn sinister? Something about this elusive figure is not as it seems. When a breakthrough in the case reveals a danger greater than anyone could have feared, it falls on Jimmy Perez to save Shetland from an unimaginable threat.
Murder, Mystery and My Family – Season 5 (available from 23rd September 2022)
Two leading British criminal barristers, Jeremy Dein and Sasha Wass, re-investigate historical murder cases in this return of the award-winning true crime series.
The series continues to follow the emotional journey of modern-day descendants who are trying to clear the names of relatives executed for murder.
Murder, Mystery and My Family: Case Closed – Seasons 3-4 (available from 23rd September 2022)
In this spin-off series, criminal barristers Jeremy Dein and Sasha Wass revisit some of the cases they investigated previously and catch up with the family members about developments since the original programs aired.
From an infamous case of poisoning in 1880s Liverpool to the drowning of a wife and mother in Victorian Bath, the pair re-investigate historic convictions in order to determine whether irreversible mishandles of justice had occurred.
Suspect – Season 1 (available from 27th September 2022)
When veteran detective Danny Naylor (James Nesbitt, The Hobbit) turns up at a hospital mortuary for a routine ID check, he’s devastated to discover the corpse of his estranged daughter Christina. Danny refuses to accept the coroner’s report that points to suicide, and sets out on a dangerous, agonizing mission to uncover the events that led to her death.
Each episode sees Danny conduct a separate cross-examination with a different suspect or witness, keeping viewers in suspense as they engage with the investigation in real-time. Through each of these vigorous exchanges between Danny and those closest to Christina – her partner, her best friend, her business partner, her godfather, her mentor and her mother, Danny pieces together Christina’s relentless descent into criminality.
At the same time, he’s forced to come to terms with his own failings as a father and the part he himself may have played in her downfall. The cast also features Richard E. Grant (Can You Ever Forgive Me?), Sam Heughan (Outlander) and Joely Richardson (Lady Chatterley).
