What is it all about?

The series takes up in May 1536 after the death of Anne Boleyn, Thomas Cromwell emerges from the carnage to continue his ascent to power and wealth, while his tyrannical master, Henry, makes another attempt at wedded bliss with his third queen, Jane Seymour.

Cromwell is caught between his desire to do what is right and his instinct to survive. But in the aftermath of the execution of Henry VIII’s queen, he knows that no one is safe.

All of England lies at Cromwell’s feet, ready to be exploited, developed, and reformed, but fate has other plans, and Cromwell’s enemies are gathering in the shadows.

The question remains: how long can Cromwell survive under Henry’s cruel and capricious reign?
