Royal Albert Hall reveals joyous line-up of Christmas shows and concerts

An incredible line-up of events is coming to the Royal Albert Hall this festive season!

The iconic concert hall in London’s South Kensington will be hosting an array of concerts, ballet performances, carols, movie screenings, and other exciting live events over the upcoming Christmas holidays.

2022’s Christmas at the Hall programme features some of the venue’s biggest shows yet, including a performance from opera star Katherine Jenkins, and an exclusive production of The Nutcracker.

The largest production of The Nutcracker in the UK takes audiences on a journey through a fantastical winter wonderland, brought to life by Birmingham Royal Ballet and the Royal Ballet Sinfonia orchestra:

Classic ’90s Christmas movie Home Alone returns to the Hall with John Williams’ score being performed live by an orchestra, and iconic radio DJ Trevor Nelson hosts Soul Christmas, reimagining Christmas tunes with a soul twist.

Other highlights include My Christmas Orchestral Adventure, a magical journey through classical music for children.

The concert takes the audience on a magical zip around the world to track down Santa, while ice skating on frozen lakes, taking a sleigh ride, and enjoying a white Christmas, all without leaving the Royal Albert Hall’s auditorium.

Did you know Handle’s Messiah has featured in the Hall’s programme an incredible 568 times since 1872?

The annual performance of Handel’s sacred oratorio returns this December, so if you’ve never experienced the magic of a full choir singing this beloved masterpiece then now’s your chance.

Here’s a fun Christmas message from the Royal Albert Hall:

The Salvation Army are back too for their annual Celebrating Christmas with The Salvation Army carol concert.

There are also festive favourites like Guy Barker’s Big Band Christmas, an uplifting evening with the London Community Gospel Choir, and the finest sing-along carol concerts of the season at Carols at the Hall.
