‘Sanditon’ cast reveal the secrets of making Season 2 in behind the scenes videos

Can you believe the second season of Sanditon is over already?

Based on Jane Austen’s unfinished final novel, the hit period drama originally premiered nearly three years ago on ITV.

After the emotional rollercoaster of the show’s cancellation and subsequent surprise renewal, Sanditon returned to our screens last month.

Last night saw the nail-biting season finale air on PBS in the US, before debuting in the UK on BritBox this morning.

If you’re already missing the residents of Sanditon, we’ve collected together all the brilliant official videos that have been released online about the making of Season 2.

First up, actor Arthur Parker, who plays Turlough Convery, takes fans on a wonderful tour of the set for the show’s scenic seaside resort and reveals what the cast are really looking at when they’re pretending to look out to sea:

In this video, Rose Williams and costume designer Lauren Miller discuss how the show’s costumes have evolved since the first season.

Williams explains: “Everything’s elevated and the costumes reflect that…”

Next up, we’ve got BritBox’s sneak peek behind the scenes, in which the crew share their “genuine joy” for the show’s shock revival and Edward Denham actor Jack Fox reveals that his costume is “essentially a male girdle”:

Here you can watch Rose Williams, Ben Lloyd-Hughes, and Tom Weston-Jones explore the grand ball scene in Episode 5:

Last up, there’s this epic Q&A session with Season 2’s cast and crew on Zoom, hosted by Decider deputy editor Meghan O’Keefe.

Sit back and enjoy – it’s nearly an hour long!

UK fans who don’t have access to BritBox will be able to watch the new season on ITV later this year.

Meanwhile, the third season of Sanditon has apparently finished filming already!

Season 3 is expected to premiere on BritBox and PBS in early 2023 – we’ll keep you updated as soon as have more details.

Sanditon is available on DVD on Amazon.
