Jessica Brown Findlay’s spooky new film is out later this month!

Based on a true story, The Banishing is set in a haunted old mansion in rural England in the 1930s.

Brown Findlay is best known for her roles in Downton Abbey, Harlots, and Brave New World.

The cast of The Banishing also includes Sean Harris (Jamaica Inn), John Lynch (The Fall), and John Heffernan (Dickensian).

The official synopsis reads: “From acclaimed genre director Chris Smith (Creep, Severance, Triangle) comes The Banishing, which tells the true story of a young reverend, his wife and daughter who move into a manor with a horrifying secret.

“When a vengeful spirit haunts the little girl and threatens to tear the family apart, the reverend and his wife are forced to confront their beliefs. They must turn to black magic by seeking the help of a famous Occultist… or risk losing their daughter.”

The Banishing will be released on digital platforms in the UK on Friday 26th March.

It’ll be available to stream in the US exclusively on Shudder from Thursday 15th April.
