Watch fun trailer for Noel Fielding’s ‘Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin’
Noel Fielding‘s new comedy has released a first trailer.
The English comedian and The Great British Bake Off host returns to our TV screens next month in The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin, playing the titular legendary British highwayman.
First announced back in 2022, the Original Series for Apple TV+ is described as an “irreverent retelling,” so don’t be expecting a huge amount of attention to historical accuracy with this one!
What we can expect from Fielding’s “wildly absurd escapades” is a lot of fun and silliness, which is certainly welcome right now.

Viewers have responded positively to the trailer on YouTube, with one commenting: “Noel makes anything he does 1000x more amazing. Excited to see this!”
“Got Pirates of the Caribbean vibes, going to watch it asap,” wrote another.
Others were glad to see the Mighty Boosh star return to his comedy routes, saying: “Miss seeing Noel doing his comedy thing – love his art and love his hosting, but it will be nice seeing him stretch his comedy muscles again.”
Set in the 18th century, The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin follows Dick Turpin (Fielding) as he sets out on a journey after being made the reluctant leader of a band of outlaws, the official synopsis reveals.
“Dick is the most famous but least likely of highway robbers, whose success is defined mostly by his charm, showmanship, and great hair.” we’re told.
“Together with his gang of lovable rogues, Dick rides the highs and lows of his new endeavors, including a brush with celebrity, all whilst trying to escape the clutches of the Thief Taker.”
Joining Noel Fielding is a great ensemble cast of British comedy stars, including Tamsin Greig (Episodes), Mark Heap (Friday Night Dinner), Dolly Wells (The Outlaws), Ellie White (The Windsors), Marc Wootton (High & Dry), Duayne Boachie (Blue Story), Asim Chaudhry (The Sandman), Joe Wilkinson (Sex Education), Geoff McGivern (Free Rein), Michael Fielding (The Mighty Boosh), Samuel Leakey (Gretel & Hansel), and Kiri Flaherty.
Oh, and Downton Abbey actor Hugh Bonneville is playing a corrupt lawman and “self-appointed Thief Taker” called Jonathan Wilde!
The Completely Made-Up Adventures of Dick Turpin will premiere globally on Apple TV+ on Friday 1 March 2024 with its first two episodes.
New eps will then drop weekly on Fridays.
