‘The Crown’ stars got dressed up for a Season 4 lockdown premiere in their homes!
The new season of the The Crown arrives this weekend!
With England currently in lockdown again due to the coronavirus pandemic, it’s not possible to launch Season 4 with the usual grand premiere event in London.
However, that hasn’t stopped the cast celebrating the show’s return!
The Crown stars including Olivia Colman, Josh O’Connor, and Helena Bonham Carter put on their finest premiere outfits and shared photos from the comfort of their houses last night – complete with their own red carpets!
Netflix tweeted last night: “If one cannot go to a premiere, the premiere must go to one (?). The Crown series 4 at-home premiere is underway.”
Also taking part were The Crown writer Peter Morgan and The X-Files star Gillian Anderson, who’s playing Margaret Thatcher in the new episodes.
Season 4 will be available to watch exclusively on Netflix worldwide from Sunday 15th November.
The official synopsis reads: “As the 1970s are drawing to a close, Queen Elizabeth and her family find themselves preoccupied with safeguarding the line of succession by securing an appropriate bride for Prince Charles, who is still unmarried at 30.
“While Charles’ romance with a young Lady Diana Spencer provides a much-needed fairytale to unite the British people, as the transformation from teenager to Princess of Wales takes place, it is anything but a fairytale for Diana.”
Grantchester actress Emma Corrin and former Call the Midwife star Emerald Fennell, who play Princess Diana and Camilla Parker-Bowles, also joined in the fun.
Netflix’s award-winning period drama series about the reign of Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom is back later this month.
The 10 new episodes finished shooting just in time before the TV and movie industry halted nearly all filming due to the coronavirus pandemic this spring.
