The ‘Downton Abbey’ movie finally started filming today!
Filming has begun at last on the long-awaited Downton Abbey movie.
The film’s production company Focus Features confirmed on their Instagram feed: “It’s an exciting day at the Abbey. Shooting begins today for the #DowntonAbbey movie!”
Written by Downton creator Julian Fellowes, the movie is expected to reunite the entire main cast of the TV series, with the exception of Mamma Mia! 2 star Lily James, who played Lady Rose MacClare.
Dan Stevens has even hinted Matthew Crawley could appear!
Seven brand new cast members were announced last week, including Anne with an E star Geraldine James and Imelda Staunton, best known as Dolores Jane Umbridge in the Harry Potter films.

The Downton Abbey movie will be released in 2019.
