It’s been confirmed when ‘The Durrells’ will end

The next season of The Durrells will be the show’s last.

Based upon Gerald Durrell’s classic trilogy of Corfu memoirs, the hit family drama launched on ITV in April 2016.

The series tells the story of Louisa Durrell, who decides to uproot her four spirited and unruly children to start a new life in Corfu in the 1930s.

As has been rumoured for a while, The Mirror now reports that “the sun will set on popular 1930s comedy drama The Durrells after the final episodes are screened next year.”

Season 4 begins filming on Corfu in September and will air in 2019.

Before that, Keeley Hawes (Louisa) is starring in the BBC’s new political thriller series Bodyguard and Josh O’Connor (Larry) is joining Netflix’s The Crown as Prince Charles.

The Durrells is available to buy on DVD now.

Season 3 premieres in the US on Sunday 30 September at 8/7c on Masterpiece on PBS.
