‘The Durrells’ Season 3 start date has been confirmed

ITV has now officially announced when the new season of The Durrells will begin.

Based upon Gerald Durrell’s classic trilogy of Corfu memoirs and written by BAFTA award nominee Simon Nye (Men Behaving Badly), the hit family drama series launched in April 2016.

The Durrells tells the story of Louisa Durrell, who decides to uproot her four spirited and unruly children from Bournemouth to start a new life in Corfu.

Season 3 arrives on UK screens at 8pm on Sunday 18 March on ITV.

Keeley Hawes (The Missing, Line of Duty) will reprise her role as matriarch Louisa, with her children Larry (Josh O’Connor), Leslie (Callum Woodhouse), Margo (Daisy Waterstone) and Gerry (Milo Parker) all returning.

Also back are Alexis Georgoulis as Spiro, Anna Savva as Lugaretzia, Yorgos Karamihos as Theodore, Lucy Black as Florence, Ulric Von Der Esch as Sven, James Cosmo as Creech and Leslie Caron as the Countess Mavrodaki.

New cast members in Season 3 will include Miles Jupp (Howard’s End), Henry Lloyd-Hughes (Indian Summers) and newcomer Elli Triggou.

The Durrells star Callum Woodhouse recently hinted that there are some “emotional moments” ahead in the upcoming new episodes.

Season 1 and Season 2 are available to buy on DVD now.

The third season of The Durrells in Corfu will air in the US later this year on PBS.
