‘The Durrells’ star hints at ’emotional moments’ in Season 3
The new season of The Durrells will carry on being “really fun,” one of the show’s stars has promised.
The Durrells launched on ITV in April 2016, telling the story of Louisa Durrell, who decides to uproot her family from Bournemouth to start a new life in Corfu.
Based upon Gerald Durrell’s classic trilogy of Corfu memoirs, the family drama series will be returning to UK screens with 8 new episodes this spring.
Actor Callum Woodhouse, who plays Leslie Durrell, recently told the Radio Times what was coming up in Season 3: “More of the usual, just sort of monkeying around in Corfu having a blast. It’s just a really fun series and it carries on being fun. But with a few emotional moments along the way as well.”
He added: “There’s a lot of exciting stuff for Leslie going on. He starts the series, basically he’s a bit of a Casanova. And has a bit of a journey of self-discovery through the series.”
Woodhouse’s co-star Daisy Waterstone also teased romance for her character Margo Durrell: “Margo’s going out with Zoltan in this series, who comes at the end of series two and I think it’s Margo’s first love.”
Set in 1937, Season 3 will see Louisa choose to focus on her family, having decided to give up searching for love, while Larry is struggling to write his third novel, Margo is in search of a new vocation and Gerry continues to grow his menagerie.
Season 1 and Season 2 are available to buy on DVD now.
The third season of The Durrells in Corfu will air in the US later this year on PBS.
