‘The Flatshare’ trailer: Jessica Brown Findlay from ‘Downton’ stars in new rom-com
Downton Abbey star Jessica Brown Findlay is back on our TV screens this winter!
Best known for her role as Lady Sybil in the hit period drama series, the 35-year-old English actress has since appeared in the likes of Harlots, Brave New World, and Netflix’s Munich: The Edge of War.
Next up she’s in The Flatshare, a fun new six-part romantic comedy coming to Paramount+ soon.
Based on the novel by Beth O’Leary, the series stars Jessica Brown Findlay and Anthony Welsh (The Great) as two cash-strapped London twentysomethings who share an apartment.
The official synopsis reads: “The catch is, Tiffany and Leon have never met and, if their plan works out, they never will. Newly dumped by her controlling ex, Tiffany spends her days earning minimum wage for minimum appreciation on a clickbait website, while Leon works nightshifts in a hospice getting life advice from a terminally ill teen as he tries to free his wrongfully jailed brother.
“But, as the Post-it Notes start to fly and each gets unexpectedly drawn into the other’s messy, complex life, an attraction evolves backwards.
“The question is – can you really fall in love with a person you’ve never set eyes on?”

Beth O’Leary says her book as been adapted “with such love and tenderness.”
The author commented: “It has been an absolute dream seeing them transform the book into such a beautiful TV show, and I can’t wait for everyone to fall in love with Jessie and Anthony’s Tiffany and Leon.”
The Flatshare has been adapted from O’Leary’s novel by lead writer Rose Lewenstein, who calls the series “a rom-com for our times.”
Lewenstein said: “Adapting Beth’s brilliant book for the screen has been a real joy and we had such a talented team bringing the scripts to life. Hope everyone loves it as much as we all do!”
Alongside Jessica Brown Findlay and Anthony Welsh, the cast also includes Jonah Hauer-King (World on Fire), Bart Edwards (The Witcher), Shaq B. Grant (Gangs of London), Shaniqua Okwok (It’s a Sin), Klariza Clayton (Skins), and Gina Bramhill (Sherlock).
Jonah Hauer-King, who plays Tiffany’s best friend Mo, is currently busy filming the second season of World on Fire.
The Flatshare will premiere in the UK, Australia and Canada exclusively on Paramount+ on Thursday 1st December.
It’ll launch in the US and other international markets in spring 2023.
Also coming up next year on Paramount+ is their adaptation of A Gentleman In Moscow, based on the book by Amor Towles and starring Ewan MacGregor.
