‘The Princess’ trailer: First look at acclaimed new Diana documentary

A trailer has been released for the much-anticipated upcoming documentary The Princess.

Described as “the definitive Princess Diana documentary,” the critically acclaimed new film is out next month.

The official synopsis reads: “The Princess tells the story of Princess Diana exclusively through contemporaneous archival footage creating a bold and immersive narrative of her life and death.

“Turning the camera back on ourselves, the film also illuminates the profound impact she had and how the public’s attitude to the monarchy was, and still is, shaped by these events.”

It’s made by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Ed Perkins and Emmy Award-winning producer Jonathan Chinno.

The movie received rave reviews when it had its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year.

Princess Diana’s story will continue in the next season of The Crown later this year.

Taking over from the wonderful Emma Corrin, Elizabeth Debicki (The Night Manager) will be playing Diana in the new episodes, which are currently filming in England.
