‘The Theory of Everything’ stars reunite for new period drama based on crazy true story
English actors Felicity Jones and Eddie Redmayne will be reunited on screen next year in The Aeronauts.
The pair previously starred together four years ago in The Theory Of Everything, a biographical romantic drama about the life of the theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking.
Set in 1862, The Aeronauts is another period drama movie based on real-life events.
Jones will play wealthy young widow Amelia Wren and Redmayne will play ambitious scientist James Glaisher. The story follows the pair’s attempt to mount a balloon expedition to fly higher than anyone in history.
Written by Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) and directed by Tom Harper (The Woman In Black: Angel Of Death), the movie also stars Tom Courtenay (Unforgotten), Anne Reid (Last Tango in Halifax), Rebecca Front (Poldark), Tim McInnery (Blackadder), Phoebe Fox (The Musketeers) and Himesh Patel (EastEnders).
Here’s the first photo from The Aeronauts:
Producer Todd Lieberman commented: “A top priority for us on The Aeronauts is authenticity. With that in mind, we intend to do as much balloon filming in the sky as the weather will allow. This image was taken after we launched Felicity and Eddie 2,000 feet in the air, performing their scripted scene, while a helicopter captured it all.
“We’re fortunate that Felicity and Eddie have the nerve to do these stunts themselves as it authenticates our entire approach.”
The Aeronauts will arrive in cinemas in 2019.
The Theory of Everything is available on DVD on Amazon.
