PBS confirms US return date for ‘Unforgotten’ – watch Season 4 trailer!

One of the most popular shows on PBS’s Sunday night British drama slot is back soon.

ITV crime drama Unforgotten returned in the UK with a fourth season earlier this year.

We can now confirm that the six new episodes will air in the US this summer as part of Masterpiece’s 50th anniversary schedule on PBS.

The official synopsis for Season 4 reads: “In the series’ most dramatic season yet, Cassie and Sunny investigate a cold case with alarming links to the police force when a corpse is discovered in a scrap yard, his features frozen in time.

“All four suspects have links to the law. But who exactly is fighting for justice? Can the police force ever really be trusted? And will Cassie and Sunny find themselves on the wrong side of the law?”

Nicola Walker (Last Tango In Halifax) and Sanjeev Bhaskar (Goodness Gracious Me) both reprise their roles as DCI Cassie Stuart and DI Sunny Khan in the latest Unforgotten mystery.

The new season premieres in the US at 9/8c on Sunday 11th July on PBS Masterpiece.

The finale will air on Sunday 15th August and we’d strongly advise against Googling anything to do with Unforgotten before then in case you see some big spoilers!

Season 4 opens with the discovery of a dismembered body in a scrap metal yard, which the team believe has been stored in a domestic freezer for thirty years. A unique Millwall Football Club tattoo leads to the victim being identified as Matthew Walsh, a young man in his mid-twenties who went missing in March 1990.

This year’s guest cast includes Sheila Hancock (New Tricks), Susan Lynch (Killing Eve), Phaldut Sharma (EastEnders), Liz White (Life On Mars), Andy Nyman (Peaky Blinders), Clare Calbraith (Baptiste), and Lucy Speed (Marcella).

ITV has already commissioned Unforgotten for a fifth season, which is set to premiere in the UK early next year.

Unforgotten is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.
