‘Victoria’ star Jenna Coleman might be returning to ‘Doctor Who’
Jenna Coleman is apparently making a return to Doctor Who in this year’s Christmas special.
The Victoria star shot to fame playing teacher Clara Oswald in the BBC’s long-running time-travel drama series from 2012 to 2015.
This year’s festive Doctor Who episode marks the exit of lead actor Peter Capaldi as the 12th Doctor and the final script by Sherlock writer Steven Moffat, who has written for the show since 2005.
There is a tradition in the series for past characters to return when an actor playing the Doctor leaves.
The Radio Times has reported that Jenna Coleman has been asked to appear in the Christmas special – although they do not confirm if the actress accepted the invitation.
Doctor Who fans will have to wait until Christmas Day to find out…
Victoria, which stars Coleman as the titular Queen, launched in the UK in August 2016 and premiered in the US earlier this year. Season 1 is available now on DVD.
The second season of Victoria is currently airing in the UK on Sunday nights on ITV and will premiere in the US on Sunday 14 January 2018 on Masterpiece on PBS.
