Watch epic trailer for the new season of ‘Victoria’

PBS has released a new trailer for the second season of Victoria.

The hit period drama returns in the US early next year with eight brand new episodes and a feature-length Christmas special.

Jenna Coleman (Doctor Who) and Tom Hughes (The Game) will reprise their roles as Queen Victoria and Prince Albert.

Titled ‘A Soldier’s Daughter’, the first episode of Season 2 will air on Sunday 14 January 2018 on Masterpiece on PBS.

Season 2 picks up one month after Season 1’s finale in 1840 and establishes Victoria as a working mother, learning to balance her responsibilities as both parent and Queen. However, Prince Albert is still struggling to find a role for himself alongside his powerful wife as she returns to her duties, intent on proving that she can be both a mother and dedicated Queen.

Victoria launched in the UK in August 2016 and premiered in the US earlier this year. Season 1 is available now on DVD.

New guest stars will include Dame Diana Rigg (Game of Thrones, The Avengers), Denis Lawson (New Tricks), Martin Compston (Line of Duty), Emerald Fennell (Call the Midwife), Jo Stone-Fewings (The Hollow Crown), Leo Suter (Maleficent) and Michael Maloney (Paranoid).
