Netflix’s new British movies and series for December 2023

Another month, another selection of new movies and TV series to watch on Netflix in the US!

The complete list of additions for the 2023 festive period is as massive as ever, so here we’ve picked out the best titles for fans of British films and television to add to their watch list, as well as other historical dramas, period dramas, and classic movies we think you’d like.

Most excitingly, December brings us the final six episodes of The Crown, following the release of Season 6’s first part in November.

For family viewing this Christmas, there’s the long-awaited Chicken Run sequel, Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget, from the makers of Wallace & Gromit.

Two new festive episodes of The Great British Baking Show will also debut, along with John Boyega’s World War II: From the Frontlines documentary series, and this year’s fun British comedy movie Bank of Dave, which is (loosely) based on a true story.

We’re looking forward to Bradley Cooper’s upcoming American period drama Maestro too, which explores the relationship between composer Leonard Bernstein and his wife Felicia Montealegre, played by English actress Carey Mulligan.

Other American movies of interest include 1950s-set thriller LA Confidential, nominated for nine Academy Awards back in 1998, and last year’s hit Elvis Presley biopic Elvis.
