Horrible Histories is back on tour with two hilarious shows for the whole family!
Packed with “outrageous facts, larger-than-life characters and featuring spectacular eye-popping 3D special effects,” Terrible Tudors and Awful Egyptians will be taking audiences on a wildly entertaining journey through history at your local theatre later this year.
Upcoming dates include performances in Brighton, Poole, Chester, Blackpool, Ipswich, Shrewsbury, Carlisle and Sheffield, so fans young and old can choose their nearest venue to catch all the historical hilarity.
Based on the bestselling children’s books by Terry Deary – which have sold over 35 million copies around the world – Horrible Histories became a smash hit TV series on CBBC in 2009.
The original Horrible Histories troupe went on to create the much-loved BBC One comedy Ghosts, which returns this Halloween with an eagerly-anticipated movie in cinemas!

“In Terrible Tudors we take a trip from the horrible Henries to the end of evil Elizabeth, hearing the legends (and the lies!) about the torturing Tudors. “From the fascinating Pharaohs to the power of the pyramids, Awful Egyptians reveal the foul facts of death and decay with the meanest mummies in Egypt. Are you ready to rumble with Ramesses the Great? Dare you enter through the Gates of the Afterlife? It’s the history of Egypt with the nasty bits left in!”

The productions come from renowned theatre company Birmingham Stage Company, the team behind every Horrible Histories live stage show since 2005, whose credits also include hit family shows like David Walliams’ Awful Auntie, Gangsta Granny and Demon Dentist, and an adaptation of Roald Dahl’s George’s Marvellous Medicine.
