‘Call the Midwife’ recap: What happened in Season 11 Episode 7?

The eleventh season of Call the Midwife continued in the UK tonight!

Following the recent festive special, we’re heading back to Poplar this winter for eight brand new episodes.

The BBC’s hit period drama series about a group of nurse midwives in the East End of London first aired in 2012, based on the memoirs of Jennifer Worth.

Last year the show celebrated its tenth anniversary and a beautiful new book compiled by Dr Turner actor Stephen McGann, titled A Labour of Love: Ten Years of Call the Midwife, is out in February.

The new season of Call the Midwife will premiere in the US later this year on PBS.

Here’s a plot recap for the seventh episode, which aired on BBC One at 8pm on Sunday 13th February 2022:

An unforeseen event in Poplar means that Nonnatus House suffers its biggest threat yet.

But this time it’s not the bricks and mortar that are in danger – it’s the people.

Sister Frances takes charge of a spirited young teenage mother who is shortly to move out of foster care and into her own accommodation.

While Sister Frances strives to prepare her, things take a serious turn with the young mother’s health.

Sister Hilda and Sister Julienne expect more from Nancy and decide to show her what she is capable of by letting her lead morning orders.

Timothy returns home from university after falling ill with glandular fever.

Season 10 is available on DVD on Amazon.
