Romantic new drama ‘Alice & Jack’ coming to PBS Masterpiece

PBS has announced a new British series for Masterpiece next year!

“A love story for the ages,” Alice & Jack is created by Mad Men writer Victor Levin.

The award-winning American screenwriter has also been a producer on shows like Beecham House, Devious Maids, and ’90s sitcom Mad About You.

Alice & Jack is described as “honest, intimate, and surprisingly funny,” showing love in “all its unexpected, technicolor, kaleidoscopic beauty.”

Leading the cast are Oscar-nominated actress Andrea Riseborough (To Leslie, Birdman) and actor Domhnall Gleeson (Brooklyn, The Revenant).

They’ll be joined by Aisling Bea (Greatest Days, This Way Up), Sunil Patel (This Time with Alan Partridge), and Aimee Lou Wood from Living.

The official synopsis reveals: “When Alice (Andrea Riseborough) and Jack (Domhnall Gleeson) first meet they’re bound by a connection so powerful it seems nothing can break it, but will their path lead them to a place of happiness and togetherness?

“Or will life and their own emotional complexities get in the way?”

When’s the release date?

Alice & Jack will premiere on Masterpiece on PBS on 10/9c on Sunday 17 March 2024.

Over in the UK, it’ll be airing on Channel 4.

“We’re thrilled to come on board with Alice & Jack,” said Masterpiece executive producer Susanne Simpson. “This is an exceptionally beautiful and profound series that we are proud to add to our lineup.”

Alice & Jack is an incredibly beautiful love story created by an exceptional team of storytellers, from Vic’s deeply touching scripts to the amazing producing team to [directors Juho Kuosmanen and Hong Khaou]’s unique vision and the brilliant cast, led by Andrea and Domhnall,” added producer Lorenzo De Maio.

Mad Men is available to watch on AMC+ with this free 7-day trial.
