Watch new trailers for second season of ‘All Creatures Great and Small’
Two trailers for the new season of All Creatures Great and Small have been released!
Based on author James Herriot’s much-loved collection of stories, the popular drama series premiered in the UK last year and the show launched in the US on Sunday nights on PBS in January.
All Creatures Great and Small chronicles the heartwarming and humorous adventures of a young country vet in the Yorkshire Dales in the 1930s.
The cast resumed filming this spring and recently wrapped production in Yorkshire, England.
With six new episodes and another Christmas special now in the can, we’ve got the first footage from Season 2!
Watch the UK trailer from Channel 5:
The official synopsis for Season 2 reads: “Three months have passed since the events of Season 1. A trip back home to Glasgow presents James with a dilemma that will mean choosing between the people he loves.
“As Helen and James navigate their feelings for one another, Siegfried, Tristan, and Mrs Hall are also forced to consider their places in the world, while James must ultimately decide between duty and love.”
Watch the US trailer from Masterpiece:
Nicholas Ralph is back as James Herriot, alongside returning regulars Samuel West (Mr. Selfridge) as Siegfried Farnon, Anna Madeley (Deadwater Fell) Mrs Hall, Callum Woodhouse (The Durrells) as Tristan Farnon, and Rachel Shenton (White Gold) as Helen Alderson.
Following the sad passing of the wonderful Dame Diana Rigg last September, however, Miranda star Patricia Hodge will be taking over the role of Mrs. Pumphrey.
Executive producer Sir Colin Callender previously commented: “We were deeply saddened by the passing of Dame Diana Rigg who will always be a treasured member of the All Creatures family.
“Mrs. Pumphrey and her overly indulged Pekingese, Tricki Woo, are such iconic and cherished characters in Herriot’s world and we are delighted to welcome the wonderful Patricia Hodge who will join the company as Mrs Pumphrey for Series 2.”
All Creatures Great and Small returns in the UK on Channel 5 next month, followed by the festive special this Christmas.
All seven new episodes will air in the US in early 2022 on PBS.
All Creatures Great and Small is available on DVD on Amazon.
