‘All Creatures’ star joins Diane Keaton in feel-good comedy ‘Arthur’s Whisky’
We’ve got a first look at a fun new British movie starring Patricia Hodge!
The 76-year-old English actress recently wrapped filming on Arthur’s Whisky, which is described as a “coming-of-age story with a twist.”
You’ll recognise her from her roles in Miranda and in All Creatures Great and Small, replacing the late Dame Diana Rigg as Mrs Pumphrey.
Hodge is currently busy shooting the fourth season of All Creatures in Yorkshire ahead of its premiere later this year.
She’s joined in the Sky Original film by Oscar-winning American star Diane Keaton (Something’s Gotta Give, First Wives Club) and legendary singer Lulu (Absolutely Fabulous).
“Arthur’s Whisky is a charming, feel-good comedy about living in the moment,” the official synopsis tells us.
“When Joan’s (Hodge) husband dies, she discovers he had invented an anti-aging elixir that literally takes the years off.
“Sharing it with her two friends Linda (Keaton) and Susan (Lulu), the three rejuvenated women waste no time in painting the town red, but they soon realise it’s a very different world to the one they remember.”
Here’s a sneak peek at the leads in action:
The trio are joined by David Harewood (Homeland), Culture Club singer Boy George, Hayley Mills (The Parent Trap), Bill Paterson (Outlander), Adil Ray (Blithe Spirit), and Drag Race UK winner Lawrence Chaney.
Playing the younger versions of the main characters are Genevieve Gaunt, Esme Lonsdale, and Hannah Howland.
Arthur’s Whisky is directed by Stephen Cookson, who made 2019’s utterly terrible movie Brighton, but there’s a great cast on board here so hopefully this should be more entertaining!
“Working with such an incredibly talented actress as Academy Award-winner Diane Keaton is a dream come true,” said Cookson.
When’s the release date?
Arthur’s Whisky will premiere in the UK and Ireland exclusively on Sky Cinema in late 2023.
All Creatures Great and Small is available to watch on Amazon Prime’s PBS Masterpiece channel with a free 7-day trial.
