‘SAS Rogue Heroes’ confirms Season 2 cast returnees: Who’s back?
The second season of SAS Rogue Heroes is now filming!
Based on Ben Macintyre’s book Rogue Heroes, the BBC’s action-packed series about the origins of the world’s greatest Special Forces unit launched last autumn.
The World War II drama was a massive hit with over 9 million viewers in the UK, receiving largely positive reviews, so of course more episodes were ordered.

Season 1 is still streaming on BBC iPlayer, and American viewers can catch up with a free 7-day trial of MGM+ here.
With shooting already underway in the UK and Croatia, we’ve got some more details on which cast members are reprising their roles in Season 2.
The BBC has confirmed that all these characters will be back:
Paddy Mayne, played by Jack O’Connell
David Stirling, played by Connor Swindells
Eve Mansour, played by Sofia Boutella
Dudley Clarke, played by Dominic West
Reg Seekings, played by Theo Barklem-Biggs
Jim Almonds, played by Corin Silva
Pat Riley, played by Jacob Ifan
Johnny Cooper, played by Jacob McCarthy
Bill Fraser, played by Stuart Campbell
Dave Kershaw, played by Bobby Schofield
Six new 60-minute episodes will hopefully debut on BBC One and BBC iPlayer in the UK later this year, or in early 2024.
Over in the US, the second season of SAS Rogue Heroes will air on MGM+ around the same time.
American viewers previously had a wait of just two weeks after the show’s UK premiere.
The official synopsis for Season 2 reads: “Spring, 1943. With David Stirling captured and Paddy Mayne now in charge of the SAS, their attention must turn from the conflict in North Africa to mainland Europe.
“But GHQ have cast doubt over the future of the regiment, while the creation of a new unit and a surprise arrival make things even more difficult for the men.
“Can they prove that the SAS remains essential to the war, wherever it may lead them?”
“[The first season] dazzled millions of viewers across the country with its swagger, action-packed set pieces and wit, winning a whole legion of fans in the process,” said Lindsay Salt, Director of BBC Drama.
She teased that Season 2 will be “bigger and better to prove that Steven Knight and the team were just getting started.”
“We can’t wait to welcome the Rogue Heroes back to the BBC,” Salt added.
SAS Rogue Heroes is available to watch on MGM+.
