Here are all the upcoming new additions:
Staged – Seasons 1-2 (available from 1st March 2023)
David Tennant (Doctor Who) and Michael Sheen (Good Omens) – playing themselves – were due to star in a production of “Six Characters in Search of an Author” in the West End. The pandemic has put paid to that, but their director (Simon Evans – also playing himself) is determined not to let the opportunity pass him by.
He knows how big a chance this is for him and turns his attention to cajoling his stars into rehearsing over the internet. All they need to do is read the first scene, but throughout the series they come up against a multitude of oppositional forces: distraction, boredom, home-schooling and their own egos.
The Confessions of Frannie Langton (available from 8th March 2023)
Set against the dazzling opulence of Georgian London, The Confessions of Frannie Langton narrates Frannie’s (Karla-Simone Spence, Blue Story) journey from a Jamaican plantation to the grand Mayfair mansion of celebrated scientist George Benham (Stephen Campbell Moore, War of the Worlds) and his exquisitely beautiful wife, Madame Marguerite Benham (Sophie Cookson, Kingsman: The Secret Service).
In a misguided and monstrous gesture Frannie is gifted to Benham by the man who owns her, John Langton (Steven Mackintosh, Luther), and she is employed as a maid in the household much to her chagrin.
Pie in the Sky – Seasons 1-5 (available from 10th March 2023)
Henry Crabbe (Richard Griffiths, Harry Potter), a reluctant detective with a passion for food, gets set to retire and open his own restaurant, Pie in the Sky. However, his supervisor, Chief Constable Fisher (Malcolm Sinclair, Andor), keeps drawing him back into investigations.
After 25 years on the force, Crabbe is well-known for being highly skilled in solving cases and catching criminals red-handed. Assistant Chief Constable Freddy Fisher isn’t too keen to lose his best detective to pastry and gravy, so he tries his best to keep Crabbe on juicy cases. The DI finds a way to keep up with both of his passions, serving up favorite dishes with justice on the side.
Escape to the Country – Season 23 (available from 14th March 2023)
Surrounded by concrete and noisy traffic, most city people are tempted to quit the rat race for the peace of the countryside. Experts and realtors help people to achieve that dream, finding a suitable property and guiding prospective buyers through every aspect of buying, selling and moving.
Each episode follows one move, and includes everything from snug, chocolate-box cottages to rambling castles. Will they fall in love with the properties that are shown, or has their search been in vain?
The Bay – Season 4 (available from late March 2023)
Marsha Thomason (Cobra, White Collar) reprises her role as Morecambe CID’s Family Liaison Officer, DS Jenn Townsend in this thrilling drama.
When young mum of four Beth Metcalf dies in what seems to be a targeted attack, Morecambe’s MIU team are called to the scene. Jenn immediately realizes this shattered family will need every support available to them. Bereft husband Dean finds himself at sea.
Numb from shock and completely unprepared for being the sole carer to his four children he struggles at every turn – unable to process what’s happened. As Jenn and the team dig deeper into the case, they discover secrets and lies lurk beneath every surface.
Staged – Season 3 (available from 28th March 2023)
Michael Sheen (Masters of Sex) and David Tennant (Broadchurch) return to their pandemic-era hit Staged for a third season.
Joined by a host of guest stars the two continue to navigate working from home, their personal lives, and their careers. Created by Simon Evans, this new season brings more laughs, more mischief, and more fun from the two actors.
