Dame Maggie Smith admits she’s never seen ‘Downton Abbey’ – watch!

Downton Abbey may have millions of viewers around the world, but one person never got around to watching it – Dame Maggie Smith!

Smith played Violet Crawley in all six seasons of the hit period drama, but made the confession to TV host Graham Norton.

Asked if she’d ever actually watched Downton Abbey, the 83-year-old British actress guiltily smiled and shook her head.

She quipped: “I’ve got the box set!”

Smith also chatted about how her role as Professor McGonagall in the Harry Potter movies changed her life: “A whole different lot of people know me because of it. It was like I’d never existed before. One child asked me, ‘Were you really once a cat?’ and I heard myself say, ‘Pull yourself together, how could I have been!’”
