When will ‘Death on the Nile’ be added to Disney+, Hulu and HBO Max?

It’s been confirmed when Death on the Nile will be available to watch at home.

Kenneth Branagh’s heavily-delayed sequel to Murder on the Orient Express was finally released in cinemas last month.

Arriving almost three years later than originally planned, the follow-up to 2017’s hit Agatha Christie adaptation sees director Branagh return as Hercule Poirot.

Just like Murder on the Orient Express, Death on the Nile boasts an incredible all-star cast including Gal Gadot (Wonder Woman), Rose Leslie (Downton Abbey), Letitia Wright (Black Panther), Annette Bening (American Beauty), and Sophie Okonedo (Christopher Robin).

They’re joined by Ali Fazal (Victoria & Abdul), Tom Bateman (Vanity Fair), and Russell Brand, with comedy double-act Dawn French and Jennifer Saunders!

If you’ve not yet managed to go see Death on the Nile, or if you don’t feel comfortable returning to the cinema due to the ongoing Covid pandemic, you’ll be able to watch it in the comfort of your own home very soon.

In the US, the movie will be added to Hulu and HBO Max on Tuesday 29th March.

UK viewers can see the film on Disney+ from Wednesday 30th March, where it’ll also available in Canada, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Switzerland, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Portugal, Belgium, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Taiwan, Luxembourg, Austria.

Meanwhile, from Wednesday 6th April fans can watch it on Disney+ in Spain and Singapore, and via Hotstar in Indonesia, Malaysia, and Thailand.

Its Star+ release in Latin America and Brazil follows on Wednesday 20th April.

The official synopsis for Death on the Nile reads: “Belgian sleuth Hercule Poirot’s Egyptian vacation aboard a glamorous river steamer turns into a terrifying search for a murderer when a picture-perfect couple’s idyllic honeymoon is tragically cut short.

“Set against an epic landscape of sweeping desert vistas and the majestic Giza pyramids, this tale of unbridled passion and incapacitating jealousy features a cosmopolitan group of impeccably dressed travelers, and enough wicked twists and turns to leave audiences guessing until the final, shocking denouement.”

Fans will be excited to hear that the studio boss behind the recent Poirot movies announced his future plans for the franchise last week.

Even though Death on the Nile hasn’t performed quite as well at the box office as Murder on the Orient Express, the team are pressing ahead with a third movie for Kenneth Branagh’s Poirot.

20th Century Pictures president Steve Asbell revealed: “We have a third script written … [it’s] a pretty daring shift in genre and in tone. It’s post-war Venice and an adaptation of one of the lesser-known novels.”

We’d expect the third film to be released sometime in 2024.

Murder on the Orient Express is available on DVD on Amazon.
