‘Downton Abbey’ is launching an official podcast – find out where you can listen!

An official Downton Abbey podcast has launched today!

And no, we can’t get the image of a confused Dowager Countess asking “what is a pod-cast?” out of our heads either.

The brand new weekly re-watch podcast comes ahead of the much-anticipated second Downton movie.

After having its release date bumped back several times, Downton Abbey: A New Era is set to finally arrive in cinemas this spring.

Downton Abbey: The Official Podcast will feature “exclusive interviews and unrivalled behind-the-scenes access” to the cast and creative team who make the hit period drama.

Alongside hosts Jacqueline Coley and Anita Rani, fans can expect chats with Downton stars Hugh Bonneville, Michelle Dockery, Laura Carmichael, Elizabeth McGovern, Kevin Doyle, Allen Leech, Lesley Nicol, Penelope Wilton, Michael Fox, and Downton newcomer Dominic West.

They’ll be joined by writer Julian Fellowes, producers Gareth Neame and Liz Trubridge, historical consultant Alastair Bruce, costume designer Anna Mary Scott Robbins, production designer Donal Woods, casting director Jill Trevellick, and Downton Abbey 2 director Simon Curtis.

We’re told we can look forward to hearing “secrets from behind-the-scenes” and “never before heard anecdotes.”

Here’s a trailer for the podcast:

Anita Rani and Jacqueline Coley will begin by heading back to the first ever episode, which originally aired in September 2010!

Featuring an interview with Julian Fellowes, the first instalment of Downton Abbey: The Official Podcast is now available online.

You can listen on Amazon, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Stitcher, iHeartRadio, and Deezer.

Downton Abbey: A New Era will be released in UK cinemas on Friday 29th April.

The movie arrives in US theatres the following month on Friday 20th May.

American viewers can wait to see the film in the comfort and safety of their own home just 45 days later on NBC’s streaming service Peacock.

Reuniting the entire Downton cast, the story sees all our favourite characters set off on a grand adventure to the South of France where they must uncover the mystery of the Dowager Countess’ newly inherited villa.

Downton Abbey: The Complete Collection box set is available on DVD on Amazon.
