‘Fifteen-Love’ trailer: First look at ‘Poldark’ star’s new tennis thriller

A trailer has been released for Aidan Turner‘s latest TV series!

Best known for his role in the BBC’s hit period drama Poldark, the Irish actor will be back on our screens soon in Fifteen-Love.

Amazon Prime Video’s new show sees the 40-year-old The Hobbit star playing a tennis coach.

The series follows former tennis prodigy Justine Pearce, played by fellow Irish actress Ella Lily Hyland, as she makes an allegation against her former coach Glenn Lapthorn (Aidan Turner) five years after an injury puts a stop to her career.

The pair are joined by a great supporting cast, including Anna Chancellor (The Crown), Jessica Darrow (Encanto), Tom Varey (Ridley Road), Lorenzo Richelmy (Marco Polo), Manon Azem (Your Honour), Elizabeth Berrington (The Nevers), Amar Chadha-Patel (Willow), and Steffan Rhodri (House of the Dragon), plus newcomers Maria Margarida Almeida and Harmony Rose-Bremner.

Fifteen-Love comes from World Productions – the production company behind Line of Duty, Vigil, Bodyguard, and Aidan Turner’s ITV hit The Suspect – so this should be one to watch.

Take a look at the trailer here:

“Hania’s scripts and characters are so incredibly layered and nuanced, tackling themes and issues within the world of sport that I don’t feel have been explored on screen before,” said Aidan Turner.

“I am excited to take on the complex role of Glenn … to bring this important story to life,” he commented as filming began last summer.

When’s the release date?

Fifteen-Love will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on Friday 21 July.

Turner has spent much of this year so far acting on stage alongside Victoria star Jenna Coleman in Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons Lemons.

Coming up, at some point Aidan Turner is expected to begin filming the long-awaited next season of Leonardo.

Season 2 was announced way back in 2021, but there’s been no news on filming dates since then, so it is possible that the series has been quietly axed.

All five seasons of Poldark are available to watch on Amazon Prime Video.
