‘I Came By’ first look: ‘Downton’ star’s Netflix thriller confirms release date
Netflix has revealed when its new British movie I Came By will premiere.
Set in contemporary London, the neo-noir thriller is led by a trio of period drama stars; Hugh Bonneville (Downton Abbey), George Mackay (1917), and Kelly Macdonald (Gosford Park).
Ahead of its release this summer, Netflix has unveiled three brand new images from the movie.
I Came By follows a rebellious young graffiti artist who targets the homes of the wealthy elite, but discovers a shocking secret that leads him on a journey endangering himself and those closest to him.
Directed by BAFTA winner Babak Anvari (Under the Shadow), the film was co-written with His Dark Materials screenwriter Namsi Khan.
The cast also includes joined by Percelle Ascott (The Innocents) and Varada Sethu (Strike Back).
I Came By will be showing in select cinemas from Friday 19th August.
It’ll then arrive on Netflix later that month, streaming from Wednesday 31st August.
We’re told by Collider to expect “nail-biting moments and plenty of jump scares” in a movie that will “keep us on the edge of our seats.”
Hugh Bonneville reprised his role as Lord Grantham in the second Downton Abbey movie earlier this year.
Meanwhile, his I Came By co-star Kelly Macdonald recently starred alongside Colin Firth in Netflix’s World War 2 drama Operation Mincemeat.

Next up, Bonneville is going to be shooting the much-anticipated third Paddington movie.
Paddington in Peru has begun filming in England and it’ll be released in cinemas in 2023.
Director Dougal Wilson commented: “As a huge fan of the first two films, I am very excited (if not a little intimidated) to be continuing the story of Paddington. It’s a massive responsibility, but all my efforts will be focussed on making a third film that honours the love so many people have for this very special bear.”
Downton Abbey: The Complete Collection DVD box set is available on Amazon.
