‘See How They Run’ first look: Ruth Wilson stars in new 1950s murder-mystery
We’ve got an exciting set of photos for See How They Run.
Set in London’s West End in the 1950s, the upcoming murder murder movie is set to arrive in cinemas this autumn.
Sam Rockwell (Moon) and Saoirse Ronan (Brooklyn) lead the all-star cast, alongside David Oyelowo (A United Kingdom), Adrien Brody (Peaky Blinders), and Ruth Wilson (Mrs Wilson).
Watch the trailer:
They’ll be joined by Harris Dickinson (The King’s Man), Sian Clifford (Fleabag), Shirley Henderson (Stan and Ollie), and Reece Shearsmith (Inside No.9).
Also appearing are Paul Chahidi (Twelfth Night), Jacob Fortune-Lloyd (Wolf Hall), Pearl Chanda (I May Destroy You), Charlie Cooper (This Country), and Pippa Bennett-Warner (Harlots).
See How They Run sees plans for a movie version of a smash-hit play come to an abrupt halt after a pivotal member of the crew is murdered.
When world-weary Inspector Stoppard (Rockwell) and eager rookie Constable Stalker (Ronan) take on the case, the two find themselves thrown into a puzzling whodunit within the glamorously sordid theater underground, investigating the mysterious homicide at their own peril.
Directed by Tom George (This Country), the movie was shot last year at a number of famous London theatres, including the Dominion Theatre, St. Martin’s Theatre, and the Old Vic Theatre.
George describes the film as a “thrilling, smart, funny murder mystery,” and says the cast were “a total dream” to work with.
See How They Run will be released in cinemas on Friday 9th September.
Katie Goodson-Thomas and DanTram Nguyen, heads of film production at Searchlight, previously commented: “[Director Tom George’s] knack for bringing stellar performances from an ensemble cast across multiple genres made him the perfect choice to lead the talented team of See How They Run.
“We are pleased to welcome several members of the Searchlight family back to the fold like Saoirse, Sam, Adrien and David for this entertaining whodunit.”
Ruth Wilson will return to our TV screens as Mrs Coulter in the final season of His Dark Materials later this year.
Based on Philip Pullman’s The Amber Spyglass, Season 3 will air on BBC One in the UK and on HBO in the US.
The first two seasons of His Dark Materials are available on DVD on Amazon.
