New teaser photos of ‘Paddington in Peru’
StudioCanal has shared preview images of the next Paddington film, Paddington in Peru. It’s the third film in the smash hit series, starring Ben Whishaw as the voice of Paddington Bear and Imelda Staunton as the voice of Aunt Lucy.
From first trailer, we now know that Paddington 3 will see Paddington, the Brown family and Mrs Bird travel to Peru to find Paddington’s beloved Aunt Lucy, who has disappeared from the Home for Retired Bears.
The images shared give us a hint of what is to come. Olivia Colman as a cheerful guitar/playing nun called ‘The Reverend Mother’, who runs the Home for Retired Bears, and Antonia Banderas as a swashbuckling river captain who steps in to help out the Brown family on their quest.
What is new in this instalment?
The biggest change is that actor Sally Hawkins has decided not to return as Mrs Brown and will be replaced in the role by Emily Mortimer. Director Paul King has also decided to step back from directing duties and has handed over responsibility to newcomer Dougal Wilson. Paul King will however act as Executive Producer and has stayed on board to develop the story. Paddington 3 will be produced by David Heyman and Rosie Alison, who also produced the first two films.
Release date
Paddington in Peru will be released in UK cinemas on November 8 and in US cinemas on January 17, 2025.
